Wtf is with "dey", "dem", "dis" / other gay slang like that?

What is with people substituting the word "they" with "dey" or "this" with "dis" or "them" with "dem" or "know" with "kno"? Is pressing the extra key to make it a real word too hard or something? Or is making yourself look like an illiterate retard that hasn't ped 2rd grade english suppose to be cool or something?
