Naruto and Hinata: Do they get closer in Shippudden? Do you think they will actually hook up?

I really want Naruto and Hinata to be together but I looked at some epsisodes and some of the manga, and I don't think Naruto will ever realize that Hinata loves him.....He's so infatuated with Sakura. And the thing that Sakura has that Hinata doesn't is TIME. Sakura spends more time with Naruto and they have a stronger connection.....But I think Sakura will end up hurting Naruto's feelings if Sasuke ever comes back to the village....Sakura will be one Sasuke like stink on poop. But NaruHina has to be. Why would the creator make Hinata love Naruto? They have to be for each other......
